Advisory

Acquisitions & Collection Building

MLAA provides advisory services tailored to each client's interests and goals, whether making a first acquisition or stewarding an established collection.

We begin by understanding each client's aesthetic preferences, interests, and collecting goals. We help clients refine those interests, establish a collecting strategy, and curate a collection that reflects their individual perspective.

Drawing on our market expertise and art historical knowledge, we provide the context and guidance needed to evaluate opportunities and make informed decisions. We work with galleries, private dealers, and auction houses to identify primary and secondary market opportunities.

We help clients navigate the nuances of the art world, understand its relationships and practices, and engage meaningfully with artists, galleries, and institutions.

Collection Management

Following an acquisition, MLAA oversees every logistical detail, ensuring works are handled with the utmost care through shipping, framing, and installation.

For growing and established collections, MLAA provides ongoing organizational and strategic support based on each client's needs. Services may include database management and cataloguing, documentation and location tracking, art storage, insurance and appraisal guidance, loan management, market analysis, and deaccessions.

Museums & Institutional Engagement

MLAA believes that collecting can extend beyond ownership, offering opportunities to support the artists and institutions that sustain the broader art ecosystem.

We encourage and guide clients who wish to engage more deeply with the cultural community through patronage, museum donations, and other forms of institutional support.

Maddie has facilitated donations with institutions including the Albertina, Baltimore Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, High Museum of Art, and Stedelijk Museum.
